Environment:
SST serves as a coordinator between local bodies and community to maintain a clean environment. Garbage is collected from houses by SHG and separated and stored as degradable and non –degradable at the source. Degradable waste is converted into vermin-compost. 42 tons of vermin-compost is currently produced every month. Wastewater form households are connected to the drains to avoid stagnation on the streets. Houses with no access to drain were asked to divert the wastewater to soak pits or kitchen gardens. Conservation efforts have achieved far-reaching results in villages- greening degraded forests that now provide resources for a variety of income generation activities. |
Infrastructure
SST participates with the government bodies in developing infrastructures such as construction of roads, drinking water facilities, proper sewage and sanitation, improving school, balwadis, health centres and community buildings in cooperation with the local communities. |
